Rockets' Porter, Green unlikely to play Friday

Kevin Porter Jr (toe) and Jalen Green (groin) missed practice on Wednesday and are unlikely to play against the Warriors on Friday

HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610)- Rockets guards Kevin Porter Jr and Jalen Green missed practice on Wednesday and are unlikely to play when the team restarts its season after the All-Star Break on Friday in San Francisco, Stephen Silas said Wednesday.

“We're just gonna take it day-by-day,” Silas said. “There's still pain in the toe for (Porter) and (groin) tightness for Jalen, but there's a small chance that we get one of them back for Portland (on Sunday).”

The Rockets haven’t played since Green strained his groin in Oklahoma City last week, which forced him to miss the Rising Stars Game on Friday, while Porter will miss his 18th straight game with left big toe soreness. Silas said both players were able to shoot off to the side during Wednesday’s practice.

Green’s 21.8 points per game lead the Rockets this season, while Porter is second on the team in scoring, putting up 19.2 points each night.

Houston has lost 14-of-17 since Porter injured his toe last month in Sacramento.
