Despite the offense stagnating in the second half, the Houston Texans beat the Chicago Bears 19-13 on Sunday night.
With the win, Houston improves to 2-0 as one of five AFC teams remaining undefeated after two weeks of action. Every other team in the Texans' division is 0-2.
The Texans led the Bears 16-10 at halftime on the strength of a Nico Collins touchdown and three Ka'imi Fairbairn field goals. Fairbairn finished the game with four field goals, all of which were from 47 yards or more.
Houston's defense kept the Bears offense from doing much. Their only touchdown was a two-yard run by Khalil Herbert in the second quarter.
Collins led all receivers with 135 yards on eight catches, including the 28-yard touchdown pass play in the second quarter.
Defensively, Texans cornerbacks Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter each had an interception against Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. Defensive ends Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. also each had 1.5 sacks. Azeez Al-Shaair, Derek Barnett, Henry To'oTo'o and Mario Edwards Jr. also each recorded a sack for Houston.
The Texans hit the road again next week to face the Minnesota Vikings (also 2-0).
