Have you ever wondered what is the best time of day to workout? Here's Dr. Darien Sutton explaining a new study that links the time of day you exercise to its health benefits. “The study found that if you work out in the afternoon - or patients who do that - have a significantly lower risk of insulin resistance, almost 25%. And insulin resistance is what increases your chances of getting diabetes. So it's really fascinating …when you look at and you have it, if you have an option maybe you should pick the afternoon.”

Research also shows that when you work out in the morning you're more likely to burn fat, but working out in the afternoon is when your workout actually controls your blood sugar better. Additionally according to CNET people function better physically later in the day rather than the morning, this includes: muscle strength, flexibility and endurance. It’s even more preferred to evening and nighttime workouts for similar reasons.
Working out in general have tons of benefits including weight management, reduced risk of health problems, strength in bones and muscles and increased chances of living longer. Depending on what time of day you work out you can target different results.
