AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Two groups of teens getting into an argument on Sixth Street led to a deadly mass shooting last weekend, according to an arrest affidavit filed Wednesday.

According to the affidavit, based on witness interviews, 17-year old Jeremiah Roshaun Leeland James Tabb pulled a gun from his waistband as two groups walked past each other in the 400 block of East 6th just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

At least one member of the other group of teens, identified in the affidavit only as a juvenile, told police that he's known Tabb since middle school. The juvenile told police that Tabb had recently shot him in the leg in Killeen.

A separate witness said a second juvenile pulled out a gun after Tabb showed his weapon, saying they shot back "for their own protection." The affidavit also says a third person was believed to have been shooting during the incident.

Police found a total of eight shell casings, all of which appeared to have been fired from the same gun. One person died and 13 others were injured in the shooting.

Tabb is currently facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A second juvenile suspect remains in custody as well.

Officials with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission are also investigating the incident, to see if any liquor laws were violated leading up to the shooting.
