AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police and other agencies are on the scene of an incident at Lakeline Mall on the city's northwest side Thursday afternoon.

Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said a dispute between two groups in the mall's food court led to a shot being fired, prompting a lockdown. That prompted a "shoot/stab hotshot" call from APD and other law enforcement around 4:20 p.m., as a part of what Davis called a "coordinated response" to the scene.

Davis said witnesses reporting seeing the two groups fleeing the scene.

No injuries or casualties were reported, Davis said. There is no ongoing threat, and Davis said investigators are working to identify and find the groups responsible for the dispute.

"You do an offense like that in Austin... there will be justice in this," Davis said. "You do not fire a weapon inside a mall with innocent people about. They will be found."

Davis said officers were working to clear the mall and send patrons who were caught up in the lockdown on their way. Family members who were separated or looking to pick up their relatives were being directed to the Savers thrift store on Pecan Park Boulevard near Lakeline Mall Drive.
