It was a scene of epic celebration at Old Ox Brewery on Thursday afternoon, when ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that league owners had unanimously voted to approve the sale of the Commanders, marking the official end to Dan Snyder’s run as owner.
Grant and Danny were live on air at Old Ox when the news broke, and they could barely contain their excitement.
“Here we go! Here we go!” Danny yelled. “It’s real, man. It’s real. It happened.”
Grant read Schefter’s tweet aloud to those in attendance at the brewery, and listening around the DC area, letting everyone know that a dark age of Commanders history had finally come to an end.
The crowd reacted in kind, breaking out in cheer and chants before singing in unison, celebrating the end of Snyder’s reign.
“Ladies and gentleman of the nation’s capital, the DMV, your football team is yours again!” Grant yelled. “Josh Harris is the new owner of the Washington Commanders, Dan Snyder’s run is over!
“A dream has been realized. A day none of us thought would come…this is DC’s ‘Do you believe in miracles?’ moment. This is a ‘Remember where you were sitting 30 years from now’ kind of moment.”
