JP Finlay interviewed Commanders minority owner Mark Ein on Thursday, and Ein made it clear that the reaction to the ownership change from the Washington fanbase has exceeded the group’s expectations, which were already lofty.

“We’re honestly humbled by the spirit we felt,” Ein said. “Going in, we knew people were looking for a change and hopefully an ownership group that cares deeply about the community…that was our hope, but until you experience it, you don’t know. What we’ve experienced has been amazing.”

The city has been in a celebratory mood since Josh Harris and company’s $6.05 billion bid was unanimously approved by NFL owners, and now, the work starts for Ein and the new regime, and he promises the fans that, after some “time” to settle in, the new owners will deliver the fanbase what they had craved for nearly a quarter century under Dan Snyder.

“We couldn’t have been more excited, fired up, and motivated, but the reaction has made it even more so,” Ein said. “We know how much people are counting on us to deliver something amazing, and I’ll tell you, give us time, and it will be absolutely extraordinary.”
