Grant and Danny were live on Friday when news became official that Dan Snyder had agreed to sell the Commanders to the Josh Harris group, and they both admittedly were near tears of joy that the “reign of terror” by Snyder was over.

So, as Monday’s show got going, and the two had a couple days to decompress and reflect, where does that moment of the sale becoming official rank among the best moments as a D.C. sports fan?

For both Grant and Danny, it ranks way up there.

“It made my Mount Rushmore,” Danny said. “Number one, three [Washington] Super Bowls, cheating a little bit because it was three things wrapped in one. Number two was the Nationals winning the World Series, number three the Capitals winning the Stanley Cup, and number four, Snyder going away.

“I didn’t know exactly how to quantify it, because it’s not a victory in terms of a tournament. You didn’t beat Dallas or do anything special on the field. But this seemed impossible. Most of the time, whenever we’re talking about the Redskins/WFT/Commanders, all I want to do is go, ‘You know all these conversations are a complete waste of time because Dan Snyder is still here, right?’ It was all a big waste of time because that guy was here, and he’s gone.”

Grant had it ranked even higher!

“It’s number three for me. Not old enough to have seen those Super Bowls for the football team,” Grant said. “Number one, I’ve got the Caps Stanley Cup, and it narrowly beats out the Nats World Series for this reason: how many years they were the bug flying around the light. They had been so close and so good for so many years before finally breaking through, and then they did.

“Number two, it was the first championship I’ve ever seen. It ended years and years of thinking I’d never see one.”
