Last week, Dwayne Haskins was the Washington Football Team’s starting quarterback. This week, he won’t even be in the building.

Haskins has a stomach virus and has been ill for the past few days and will not be at FedEx Field when Washington hosts the Los Angeles Rams, according to multiple media repots.

Haskins was planning to be on the sideline, but the team decided to send him, according to Tom Pelissero.

The illness is not believed to be COVID-19, according to 106.7 The Fan’s Grant Paulsen.

After Washington’s 30-10 defeat, head coach Ron Rivera confirmed Haskins was sent home from the team hotel before the game due to illness.

"This morning he got up, he wasn't feeling very well," Rivera said Sunday. "He notified the trainer, the doctor checked in on him and they just felt they would send him home."

This means Alex Smith will be the only other quarterback available for Washington after head coach Ron Rivera decided to bench Haskins in favor of third-year player Kyle Allen.
