The Furman Men's Basketball finds itself in the Fnals of the SoCon Tournament Monday night with a trip to the "Big Dance" on the line.
It was a gutsy comeback effort that fueled Furman past UNC-Greensboro in the SoCon Semifinals, Sunday night. The Paladins trailed by 11 at the half, but they rallied with the season on the line.
Furman went on a 13-5 scoring run to open the 2nd half and get back into the game. After the break, Furman's Alex Wilkins took over. The Freshman guard poured in a game high 34 points to pace the Paladins, Cooper Bowser added 14.
Greensboro led for 70% of the game but Furman took control when it mattered and won it 81-75. The 6th seeded Paladins have played the role of dark horse in the SoCon Tournament.
They'll take on the Regular Season Champs East Tennessee State, Monday night in Asheville. ETSU swept a pair of regular season meetings between the two. Furman looks to settle the score in the SoCon Finals and punch their ticket for an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament, later this month.
