(670 The Score) If you clicked on this link, then you definitely already saw The New Hats, to which I say: Welcome, and let's now make fun of The New Hats. MLB got an early start on its annual new gear flop, and while it's not *quite* let's-have-everyone-play-in-monochrome-black-and-white-all-weekend bad, it's close. Take a look.
I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of which Chicago area zip codes got snubbed, so I will just believe you when you say that yours did and it's a huge insult to both sides of your family going generations back. I agree. Everything about these hats is goofy. Could they not get the likeness rights to Mike Ditka's mustache in time? I would be willing to bet a bunch of money that they were designed by someone who lives in New York and spent one late July weekend in Chicago eight years ago. I'm imagining some marketer explaining that they left The Bean off because that's for tourists, unlike (looks at hats again) deep dish pizza. I have like 55-60 more one-liners ready to go, but for now, let's just bask in the warm familiar glow that is people making fun of MLB's uniform choices.
