Wrap a newspaper around your head to look like you are deep. Say some mumbo jumbo and put them all to sleep. Proceed to tell the Washington Commanders their future and offer your bold predictions for the 2022 NFL season.

With the regular season opener – the first with a new permanent name, new fight song, and, yes, once again, a new starting quarterback under center – under a month away, Washington's future is, yes, once again, obscured by cosmic debris.

Of course, many Commanders fans and Kevin Sheehan are clamoring: "But I got the crystal ball!" So here are some bold predictions for season three of the Ron Rivera Era in D.C.

Carson Wentz: Player of the Week

At first, Sheehan thought about offering the prediction that Antonio Gibson starts every game and leads the team in rushing, but the price of that one happening has just gone up as Gibson appears down in the depth chart.

Sheehan remains skeptical about Wentz's overall performance, but the first of the bold prediction: Carson Wentz will win at least one offensive NFC Player of the Week award.

"He's capable of having big games, and I think there's gonna be a week, maybe two, maybe more than that, where he has a big, big game and they win a game that's important," Sheehan said.

Jack Del Rio won't last the season

"The Kevin Sheehan Show" producer Brendan Darr staked out his claim on a patch of land that many others would like to occupy: defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio will be fired before the end of the season.

"I don't have a specific date in mind," Darr said. "In season, the Commanders will move on from Jack Del Rio."

The first caller, Robert in Fairfax, went bolder: Del Rio doesn't make it 5 games.

Here are some other theories from Commanders fans:

– Wentz is the NFC's Pro Bowl starter as Commanders go 12-5

– Dan Snyder sells the team for $8 billion

– Wide receiver Curtis Samuel plays the entire season

– Commanders will have five 20-point 4th quarter leads

– Sam Howell will start the most games at quarterback
