Now that the noms are out, the biggest story of the day is Ryan Coogler's vampire drama "Sinners" making Oscar history. The film broke the all-time nomination record with 16 total nominations, surpassing legendary films like Titanic and La La Land.
It earned nods for Best Picture, Best Director for Ryan Coogler, and a Best Actor nomination for Michael B. Jordan.
Close on its heels is, Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another" scored 13 nominations, including for Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor and multiple acting categories.
In the supporting categories, standout support nods went to Sean Penn, Delroy Lindo, Elle Fanning and Wunmi Mosaku.
Probably the biggest shocker is that despite the buzz, "Wicked: For Good" which starred Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande got zero nominations.
The 98th Academy Awards ceremony is set for March 15, 2026, with Conan O'Brien returning as host.
