CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Families of loved ones buried at a Northwest Side cemetery say they've dodged potholes and pulled weeds and still have a hard time locating their relatives' grass-choked gravesites.
WBBM Newsradio’s Steve Miller reports.
"Yeah, I don't think I've ever been to a cemetery that's been this neglected,” Lori Ferris said Monday.
Ferris, who lives in the Northwest suburbs, has family buried at St. Luke Cemetery.
"I'm dodging potholes, trying not to blow a tire. We were cutting down branches of trees. We brought grass seed to put around the graves. Everywhere you look, it's just neglected."
When WBBM visited, it looked like some attempt had been made to fill some potholes, but some of the graves were overgrown with weeds.
WBBM left messages with cemetery owners seeking comment.
