(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A suspect reportedly kidnapped two women in Hyde Park and forced one of them to withdraw cash from an ATM.
Investigators said the crime began around 4 a.m. Monday in the 5100 block of East 52nd Street.
A man entered the home and demanded money from the 22- and 25-year-old women in the resident.
He implied he had a gun and struck them before forcing the women into his car, police said. He drove them to several ATMs, where he had them try to withdraw money, police said. One woman was able to withdraw money, but the other was unable, police said.
The two escaped and eventually contacted police.
No arrests have been reported.
