(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Democratic Congressman Sean Casten says President Trump is inflaming tensions in the wake of the George Floyd killing by Minneapolis police when the exact opposite is needed.
Casten, who represents the suburban 6th District, said Trump continues to frame the current unrest as an “us or them” issue.
And he criticized Trump for telling governors they should “dominate” protesters and for the way the administration directed the military to clear Lafayette Park of peaceful demonstrators so he would walk to a photo op at a church.
Casten says you don’t show strength by being a bully. The country remains divided, he says.
