CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- It’s been quite a week for Ald. Proco "Joe" Moreno.
It's his last full week as alderman of the First Ward. Also, he was arrested and charged with four felonies related to filing a false police report after saying his Audi had been stolen.
Now, Liliya Hrabar is suing him for defamation because she got arrested driving the Audi.
"She was taken out of the car, placed in handcuffs and informed that she had stolen this vehicle,” Hrabar's attorney, Michael Gallagher, told reporters Thursday.
Hrabar said the arrest was a nightmare.
She said she still has no idea why Moreno reported the car stolen because he knew she had it.
"I talked to him after that and I still don't understand why he did that,” she said.
Hrabar said Moreno was nice when they met last September.
She said she's an insurance agent and because of what happened she's lost clients.
WBBM has asked Moreno's attorney for comment on the defamation lawsuit.
