One man in North Carolina is being hailed a hero after home security camera footage captured him saving his family from a surprise wild bobcat.

Luckily, the father went into super dad mode, and saved his family from the wild animal attack.

The now viral video clip shows the man walking out to his car, holding a tray of brownies, and waving hello to a jogger passing by. The scene is serene as it appears to be a quiet suburban neighborhood with no visible signs of danger.

Things quickly change as he and his wife get ready to load into their car, an unexpected bobcat scream is heard and the wild animal is seen attacking the couple.

The bobcat is first seen jumping on the woman as she walks along the passenger side of the vehicle. She screams as the bobcat attacks her from the back.

The man quickly jumps into action, grabbing the bobcat and tossing him across his yard. When the bobcat gets back up and sprints towards the car, the father appears to draw some sort of weapon from his back pocket and yells, “I’m going to shoot that [expletive].”

Many online were amazed by the heroic act, with some nominating the man for "father of the year".

Luckily, the man’s actions prevented anyone form being injured during the bobcat attack.

According to Newsweek, the bobcat was shot and was found to have rabies. While it is unclear who shot the bobcat, the man and his wife subsequently received rabies shots, the outlet noted.
