14-year-old boy shot and killed in Woodlawn, police say

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO)- Chicago police are looking into the death of a young teenage boy who was shot to death overnight on the South Side.

The victim was 14-years-old. Police said they responded to a call of “shots fired” and when they arrived at the 1000 block of East Marquette Road in the Woodlawn neighborhood, they found the boy shot multiple times in his body. He was declared dead at the scene. Witnesses said they saw a blue minivan speed away after the shooting. Police said a gun was discovered but no one has been arrested.

In the past week, according to police, eleven teenagers have been shot in Chicago. Two were killed. Seven of them were under the age of 18.
