CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police want to find the driver of a minivan who triggered a deadly crash late Tuesday night that killed a 16-year-old girl in the city’s Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
According to Chicago police, a tan minivan had rear-ended a white Dodge Charger the girl was a passenger in in the 4500 block of West Armitage Avenue at about 11:35 p.m. The girl was in the back seat.
The impact caused the Charger’s back end to swing into the rear end of a parked semi tractor-trailer.
The teen was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. She has not yet been identified.
The 44-year-old man who was driving the Charger and the front passenger, a 49-year-old woman, were also taken to Illinois Masonic for minor injuries.
A man in the parked semi was not injured, police said.
The tan minivan left the scene. No one is in custody.
