(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The search is on for one person who got away Friday morning after triggering a shootout with police that left two people wounded, including an innocent bystander.

Two police officers stopped a group of people around 7 a.m. at 18th and Morgan in Pilsen when one person in the group displayed a handgun, and an exchange of gunfire ensued, officials said.

Wounded were a 23-year-old member the gunman’s group and a man in his 30s whom Police Supt. David Brown said was an innocent bystander.

The 23-year-old was transported to Stroger Hospital. The bystander, who was grazed in the leg, was in good condition, Brown said. It's not known if he was hit by police.

No officers were struck by gunfire, but the two were taken to the hospital for observation.

Three individuals were taken into custody, but the person who initially pulled the gun was still at large, police said.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating.
