CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two people were killed following a wrong-way crash Saturday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway near 63rd Street.

Just before 11 a.m., a 53-year-old Naperville man was driving a Chevy Equinox the wrong way in the I-94 southbound lanes near 63rd Street when he struck a semi-truck and a Nissan Sentra head-on, Illinois State Police said.

The wrong-way driver and a 66-year-old woman riding in the Nissan were both transported to area hospitals and later pronounced dead, according to police.

The driver of the Nissan, a 66-year-old man, was also transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

All southbound traffic was diverted onto the I-94 express lanes until about 6:50 p.m.
