CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Gun violence in Chicago this weekend has left seven people dead and at least 49 wounded.
Five men were wounded as they stood behind a home near Race and Cicero avenues at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and police said a gunman entered the backyard and began shooting.
Chicago police said the men had multiple gunshot wounds to their lower bodies and were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The victims ranged in age from 23 to 50 years old.
This happened just blocks from where Police Supt. David Brown and city and religious leaders held a prayer march thru Austin earlier in the day.
