6 different Northwest Side businesses burglarized in 2 hour span: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are investigating a rash of commercial break-ins on the Northwest Side that happened in about a two hour span last week.

Detectives said the six different businesses near O’Hare Airport were burglarized overnight on January 12, between a little before 2:30 a.m. and around 5 a.m. The multiple suspects, wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves, gained entrance into each business by shattering the front glass door and then stole money from the cash register or from the office of the business, police said.

Police said the suspects were driving a black Jeep Cheorkee and gray Honda Accord at the time of the burglaries.

According to the CPD, the burglaries occurred in the following location and times:

6000 block of North Northwest Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 2:23 am

5300 block of North Cumberland Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 3:08 am

5300 block of North Cumberland Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 3:08 am

5300 block of North Cumberland Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 3:08 am

5300 block of North Cumberland Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 3:08 am

7200 block of West Devon Ave. on January 12, 2023 at 4:54 am
