CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago activist spent last night sleeping outside City Hall in an effort to draw attention to the homeless population-many of whom do it every night.
Andrew Holmes was dressed for it, but was still shivering as WBBM spoke to him on the sidewalk outside city hall.
Holmes typically chooses a bitter cold night to do this. He said there’s something wrong with the system.
"I have nothing against immigrants, but as soon as they land here, they found money quick -the housing and put them in school and also filled up motels with him," Holmes explained. "It's disrespectful when we got veterans that are homeless on the streets and families on the streets, and you can't put them anywhere."
When asked what’s changed in the seven years Holmes has been doing this, he said there are more homeless… and said nothing has changed.
