(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The latest problem with Dixmoor's water supply means students in the south suburb had the day off of school.
Three water main breaks over the weekend, plus another one at around 9 a.m. Monday, forced Dixmoor District 147 to send students home from Martin Luther King Elementary and Rosa Parks Middle schools.
Village Spokesman Travis Akin says crews have been working on the problem.
Dixmoor has had several water main issues — most recently last month — but also in March and last year. Akin says it's very frustrating and the village needs solutions right away to resolve ongoing problems its century-old infrastructure.
