(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police have issued a community alert to residents of the Northwest Side regarding armed robbers targeting people using ATM’s.

The robbers are targeting people using drive-up ATM’s and there have been four recent incidents-two this week at the same ATM on the 1800 block of North Cicero moments apart at 6:25 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., police said.

The two that happened last week occurred on the 7100 block of West North Avenue 1:20 a.m. and the other on the 7200 block of West Belmont at 3:30 a.m.

The alert said the men involved are described as black, wearing black ski masks, black hooded sweatshirts and black pants and they’re armed with handguns.

They use a car to block people from driving away and then rob them of cash, wallets, and cell phones.
