(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Since 1995, the old Copley Hospital on Aurora’s east side has sat vacant.

The city said it became an uninhabitable eyesore and was a magnet for everything from gang activity to ghost seekers.

Now, though, it has new life.

It’s been renovated and turned into Weston Bridges, a 53-unit single-bedroom complex for high-functioning adults with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities.

The complex includes support for residents such as meals, transportation, recreation, health and wellness, and job placement.

Weston Bridge is part of a $125 million restoration project of the old Copley site.
