ARLINGTON HEIGHTS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Are the Chicago Bears making a defensive shift or trying to pull off a fake handoff as the team moves forward in looking for a new home?

At a meeting before business leaders in Arlington Heights Monday night, a meeting that had the banner of “Touchdown Arlington,” Bears CEO Kevin Warren dodged left and right, letting those in attendance know a move to Arlington Heights is not a sure thing. The Bears and local government leaders have been hung up on the amount of property taxes the Bears should pay.

“We’ve had a stalemate and a lack of communication. It sounds like it’s a little bit more convoluted at this point in time than I thought it would be. Well then, we’re in a position to start exploring other places and other opportunities,” Warren said.

Those other places include Naperville, Waukegan and Lake Forest.

Warren said it's strictly business. He also said he’s confident the Bears and Arlington Heights will be able to work out a deal.
