
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police recovered the body of a missing boater days after he went overboard in another accident in the area known as the “Playpen” in Lake Michigan.
Chicago police said the marine unit recovered the body shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday.
They had been looking for a boater since Wednesday night, when two people fell overboard in the area.
One man was found in critical condition. Police said another boater spotted the victim in the water.
The medical examiner has identified the deceased as 29-year-old Spencer Williams.
Two women were severely injured last weekend when their raft was hit by a boat in the Playpen.
A 34-year-old woman had to have her legs amputated as a result.
