(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A 28-year-old Bolingbrook man is accused of a series of residential burglaries in which he recorded occupants while they were sleeping, police said.

Bolingbrook authorities said Zacharie Brown first came to their attention Feb. 17 when a resident saw someone trying to break into a home in the 100 block of Delmar.

The suspect fled, but police say officers early Feb. 22 observed a suspect trying to break into the same residence.

The suspect — Brown — was apprehended a short while later in a traffic stop, police said.

Subsequent investigation revealed Brown had committed a series of break-ins, during which he would videotape sleeping residents, police said. In one incident, he allegedly lifted a blanket to expose a sleeping male, police said.

Brown was arrested this week and charged with multiple counts of residential burglary, unauthorized video recording, criminal trespass and attempted criminal sexual abuse, police said.

No further information was available.
