(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Kane County residents are being urged to lock their parked vehicles as police continue looking for teenagers believed responsible for the theft of items from several unlocked automobiles.
Two to three teenaged males have been stealing vehicles from the Rockford area and then driving to Kane County and looking for unlocked vehicles,
Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain said.
When the teens find an unlocked vehicle, they steal whatever they can from inside, he said.
The sheriff is urging people to lock their parked vehicles. That appears to be all it takes to stop the thefts, he said.
