CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A well-known Chicago attorney has been identified as the woman killed in a hit-and-run last Thursday on the West Side.
Family and friends are remembering Linda Mensch, a renowned entertainment attorney who was killed in a hit-and-run in East Garfield Park. It happened just before 4 p.m. near the corner of North Central Park Avenue and West Fulton Boulevard.
Chicago police said the 70-year-old was hit by a black GMC Savana cargo van her daughter Jess Heyman told CBS 2.
"I felt like a giant foot had stumped on me. I felt just sort of, like, flattened with grief. He hit her initially I guess, and then got out of the car and went back in, and then drove off and dragged her body under the car for a number of feet,” Heyman said.
The black 2007 GMC Savana 1500 cargo van had Illinois White Sox license plate 11285WS. Police asked anyone with information to call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521.
