CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Auto Show is getting underway this weekend and finally back to "full throttle."
"We're really excited," said Mark Bilek, Senior Director of Communications and Technology for the Chicago Auto Show.
"After a couple of years that down years with a pandemic, we're back to two halls, so we're in both the North and the South Hall so people that have been coming for years will say, 'Hey, the Chicago auto show's back'. We've got seven indoor test tracks-the most we've ever had and we also have four outdoor ride-and- drives for people to go and take a test drive in a vehicle."
Kelly Yorke is with Hyundai. "For years, Chicago has really been the one that has the most attendance at it," she said.
"As a product specialist and a team lead, we love it just because it brings a whole new level of energy to the show when we have consumers to talk to."
Ticket sales are ahead of last year's pace...when the show brought in 200,000 people.
