CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The principal of Queen of Martyrs Catholic School in Evergreen Park has been fired following his suspension for defying the mask mandate imposed by the Chicago Archdiocese.
Jacob “Doc” Mathias wrote on Facebook, the conditions presented to him to be reinstated were “unreasonable in nature and extreme in scope.”
The Queen of Martyrs pastor, Father Martin Marren, called them “fair and reasonable steps.”
Mathias has a lot of support on Facebook, which was very critical of the archdiocese.
One person wrote, “bull—, doc” while another wrote, “absolutely, utterly disgusted.”
Other posts read, “Our hearts are breaking for you tonight Doc, we lost a leader but gained a legend in my eyes” and “Thank you Doc for standing up and being a voice to those of us who keep being silenced.”
