CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There are worries this summer’s downtown NASCAR Street Race could cost the nearby Museum Campus thousands of visitors.
The NASCAR race downtown will be during Independence Day weekend. That also happens to be one of the busiest times of the year for Museum Campus visitors, and the chief marketing officer of the Shedd Aquarium said the aquarium could lose $2 to $3 million dollars, with 30% fewer visitors during days of street closures before, during and after the race.
NASCAR is to present its timeline for street closures and other plans sometime next month.
