CHICAGO (WBBM NEWRADIO) -- City agencies gathered at Chicago's emergency management and communications center on the West Side Thursday to prepare for a variety of problems that could arise before, during and after the Nov. 3 presidential election.
Chicago Police Supt. David Brown says the city is preparing for possible unrest, but that's not all.
The city was holding what it calls "scenario-based" exercises to prepare police, firefighters, and all city departments for any issue that comes up, such as what to do if it snows on election day.
It also held a "Public Safety Workshop" involving city departments and other government agencies to develop strategies for any problems that might arise with early voting and what might happen in response to the outcome of the presidential race.
