(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A judge on Thursday set bond at $5,000 for a Chicago Police lieutenant accused of shoving a flashlight between the buttocks of a 17-year-old carjacking suspect.
The incident at the center of this was an apparent carjacking in February in the North Austin neighborhood.
Prosecutors say Wilfredo Roman Jr. — a 45-year-old police lieutenant with 21 years on the job — approached the teen suspect from behind and “shoved his flashlight in between (the suspect’s) buttocks.”
Prosecutors say that after Lt. Roman removed the flashlight, he walked away, turned around and yelled, “That’s what you get for carjacking.”
Roman is charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct, both felonies.
He is reportedly the fourth Chicago Police officer to be arrested on felony charges over the past several weeks.
Roman surrendered for arrest to members of the department’s Bureau of Internal Affairs Wednesday night at the Central District police station at 1718 S. State St., the Chicago Police Department said in a statement Thursday.
