CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man alleged to have robbed a CTA Blue Line passenger Friday morning.

Police said the suspect approached a 35-year-old man on a Blue Line train near the Western stop, on May 5, at about 6:15 a.m., and tried to grab his belongings. The suspect allegedly struck the rider, pulled him to the ground and then took his valuables.

Detectives have released images pulled from the train's video surveillance cameras. Police describe the suspect to be between 19 to 30-years-old, 6’0’’ to 6’2’’ tall, and 250 lbs. At the time of the alleged robbery, he was wearing a green and yellow Oakland A’s baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt that had a “RR” emblem on the left chest, a yellow undershirt, black sweatpants and white sneakers.
