(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Department of Public Health says it has identified “several” COVID cases linked to Northalsted Market Days, which ran Aug. 6-8.

The city’s health department says the coronavirus infections linked to Market Days are among city residents, non-city residents and out-of-state people.

The health department said in a statement that it’s investigating “several” cases, and that “learning more about these events will help (the city) develop recommendations and guidance so that these events can continue to be held safely in the future.”

It’s asking anyone who was at Market Days and later tested positive to contact them.

Organizers of Northalsted Market Days did not require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for admission, saying it was a street festival and open-air.

But organizers said some bars had their own restrictions.

Howard Brown Health, which usually has a presence at Market Days and other LGBTQ events, withdrew from this year’s street festival because the clinic said organizers didn’t have enough mitigation in place.

Anyone who attended Market Days and later tested positive for COVID-19 can self-report their case directly to CDPH at https://redcap.link/reportmarketdays
