ST. CHARLES, Illinois (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An 88-year-old Chicago woman in a wheelchair died Friday after a pickup truck struck her in a crosswalk and drove off, police in west suburban St. Charles said.

The woman was crossing North 3rd Street at Main Street around 4 p.m. with her adult son when the turning struck her, St. Charles police said.

First-responders rushed to the scene, and the unidentified woman was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where she died.

Now, detectives are asking the public’s help in locating the driver and truck that hit the woman.

They say they’re looking for a 2016 Dodge Ram, Cummins Edition, 4-door pick-up truck. The pickup has chrome outside mirrors, chrome door handles and spoked chrome rims, said police, who distributed a surveillance image.
