(WBBM NEWSRADIO) --Cleanup goes on after rough storms hit Hodgkins and Indian Head Park earlier this week.
The national weather service says at least 11 tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area this past Wednesday.
One of the hardest hit areas was Indian Head Park in the southwest suburbs. A resident spoke to CBS 2.
"Walls were shaking. Doors were shaking and I heard this loud wind that I thought the roof came off," said Barbara Madaio. "It turned out to be a front porch. It blew away."
There was more damage in Hodgkins where a roof was torn off a Target store and in nearby McCook, dozens of businesses had storm damage. Several rooms at the Skyline motel were destroyed. The owner said repairs will cost millions.
