(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago man raising funds for climate change awareness has just finished running the equivalent of multiple marathons in a week.

Kenny Moll set out to run seven marathons between June 26 and July 2, but last week’s poor air quality from the Canadian wildfires reduced his output by a couple of days, he said.

Still, Moll said he managed to tally an impressive five marathons’ worth of distance, 131 miles, as he ran along the city’s lakefront. He raised more than $10,000 for Sunrise Movement.

“They’re a youth-led environmental justice organization that aims to end climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process,” Moll told WBBM Newsradio.

Asked about how his legs felt after all that running, he replied: “They’re toast. They’re toast.”
