CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The ribbon was cut Wednesday opening Cook County’s newest healthcare facility on the 5500 block of West Fullerton Avenue in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood.
"This ribbon cutting represents another step towards greater health equity in the county we all call home," said county Board President, Toni Preckwinkle.
Patients at the new facility will have access to pediatric and adult primary care, women's health services, and specialty services such as cardiology and endocrinology.
"We know that health is so much more than your relationship with your provider," said Israel Rocha, Jr. CEO of Cook County Health. "It's about food security. It's about housing security. It's about all the things that enable us to live our healthiest lives."
The new facility replaces a smaller clinic in Logan Square and will be able to handle twice the number of patient visits with a wide range of services and specialties.
