CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Civilian Office of Police Accountability says it’s finished its investigation into the botched 2019 police raid on the home of Anjanette Young and has found almost 100 allegations of misconduct.

The police raid on Young’s Near West Side home was just over two years ago. Officers got a tip about a man with a gun at that address, but it was the wrong home.

COPA officials said Young was naked when police went into her home, and she was immediately handcuffed. She was later allowed to dress and handcuffed again. She was in restraints for nearly 17 minutes.

Its investigation “produced nearly one hundred allegations of misconduct stemming from the actions of more than a dozen officers,” COPA said.

“We hope that our investigation and recommendations will enable the healing process,” Administrator Sydney Roberts said in a statement.

The report goes to the police superintendent.

Details about the raid were first reported by CBS Chicago. Mayor Lightfoot's administration initially sought to prevent bodycam video of the incident -- which predates Lightfoot's tenure -- from being made public.
