CPD investigating pair of morning armed robberies on North Side

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago Police Department said it received at least two reports of armed robberies on Chicago's North side Wednesday morning.

No one is in custody yet for the alleged armed robberies that occurred in the West Ridge neighborhood.

Around 6:45 a.m., near N. Maplewood and Albion, a man was standing near his car when two individuals exited a white SUV with guns,  demanded the man's personal belongings, went through his pockets, and struck him before re-entering their SUV and leaving.

Police said they received a similar call around 7:15 a.m. about a man near Fitch and Francisco being approached and robbed by two individuals in a white SUV with firearms.

CPD said they also received a service call between 6 and 6:30 a.m. regarding a person with a gun but that no police report was generated.
