CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There’s a potential scandal brewing at the Chicago Police Department, and it involves newly arrived migrants.

There are investigations of whether more than one Chicago police officer had sex with new migrants, including with a teenage girl who became pregnant. Hundreds of migrants have been temporarily housed in Chicago police stations.

Police said the investigations are being carried out by the Bureau of Internal Affairs as well as the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.  The investigation is said to center on the Ogden District on the West Side.

It’s not known yet whether any officers have been stripped of their police powers or whether prosecutors are looking into possible criminal charges.

The mayor’s office said the city takes the allegations very seriously as well as the care and well-being of all residents and new arrivals.
