CPD releases video, photos of suspect shooting man dead in Avalon Park

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- In hopes of finding the gunman, Chicago police have released video footage of a suspect ambushing and murdering a man on the city's Southside earlier this month.

The shooting in Avalon Park happened just after 8 pm, February 7 in the 8100 block of South Kenwood Avenue. Police said Keith Strange, 31 was killed in the attack.

Images from a Ring camera from a neighbor's home show someone walking on the sidewalk, and quickly pulling up their hoodie before making their way towards Strange, who had putting supplies into his white pick-up truck.

In the video, the suspect runs up behind Strange and fires at least two shots.

Police said the gunman is medium to heavy build, He wore a light-colored winter coat with a fur trim on the hood, a dark shirt and pants, and dark gym shoes with a light-colored trim.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Area two detectives.
