(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Friends and relatives of a missing Crest Hill woman are holding out hope she returns home after disappearing six weeks ago.
They held a prayer vigil for her in Joliet, WBBM Newsradio's Nancy Harty reports.
Kathleen Peck says she can feel it in her heart, that her friend will come back. She joined about 50 others at St Joseph’s Park, where she said through tears that Wendy Gessing would join her for coffee regularly.
The Joliet Herald News reports Gessing, 50, was last seen June 12 at the pizza place where she worked.

Crest Hill police chief Ed Clark says they found her SUV and have gone through the vehicle, her cellphone and financial records as part of their investigation.
Gessing’s boyfriend and family have cooperated and are offering a reward for her return, he said.
She has a sugar skull tattoo on her forearm, a flower tattoo on her wrist and a Celtic cross on her shoulder.
Authorities have reached out to the Will County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security for help.
