Crime continues on and near the CTA Red Line: woman shot, man robbed

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - There were a couple of crimes on or near the CTA Red Line Tuesday night and in the overnight hours including a shooting.

Police said that around 6:45 p.n. a 27-year old woman was shot on 95th and Lafayette, just across the street from the Red Line station. She was hit in the arm and taken in good condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Police said a gun was found at the scene and that more than one person of interest is being questioned.

Meanwhile, shortly before 1:30 in the morning, a 33-year old man told police he was on a Red Line train and fell asleep, waking up as one of four men grabbed his bag and ran off the train at Roosevelt Road. He was not injured.
